Product Brief
Optivity Enterprise 7.0 Features
SummaryOptivity Enterpriseā¢ 7.0 is Bay Networks' industry-leading network management solution for the enterprise network. The packaging of the component has changed in this release to reflect the two new RMON products that replace Design and Analysis. Optivity Enterprise 7.0 will be officially announced September 30.
Optivity Enterprise 7.0 Features
Optivity Enterprise is the most comprehensive member of the Optivity product family, providing an application tool-set designed for managing larger enterprise networks including:
- Optivity LAN 7.0 is a focused set of management tools for switched internetworks. Based upon Bay's multilayer topology subsystem Optivity LAN provides comprehensive support for hubs, switches, VLANs and ATM devices.
- Optivity Internetwork 6.2 reduces the complexity of managing router-based internetworks. The introduction of NetControl 1.0 delivers a tool to automate file management, version control, auditing and distribution of router image and configuration files.
- Optivity Analysis 7.0 leverages Bay Networks' recent acquisition of ARMON Networking to provide a enhanced suite of remote monitoring tools. Optivity Analysis is made up of the OnSite RMON management application and TrafficMan, a new internetwork conversation monitor.
- Optivity Planning 7.0 is a reporting and simulation application. The package includes ARMON's NetReporter baselining and trending application, which supersedes TrendMan, along with DesignMan, a tool for simulating traffic flow in switched internetworks.
